Classic sports car lines drawn from the fabulous BMW roadster of 1956 1959, with the long-hood and short-deck profile, there is just something special about this BMW! Located in the Upper Bavarian town of Buchloe, Alpina was founded in 1963 as a BMW tuner by Burkard Bovensiepen. This special edition Z8 was sold directly through BMW dealerships, marking the first time Alpina cars were sold through retail channels in the United States. Only 450 Z8 Alpina\'s were slated to be shipped to the U.S.

The Alpina model delivered slight changes to the original Z8, including Alpina badges, Alpina Switch-Tronic transmission with paddle shifting, and a Alpina built engine producing more torque. Special BMW Alpina 20-inch wheels, replaced the original model\'s 18-inchers, and have five clusters of four spokes in each wheel. The wheels are 9.0 inches wide at the front and 10.0 at the rear, planting the car firmly to the pavement.
