Incredible 1970 Chevelle SS Survivor

New to our Redwood City showroom is the epitome of the American "Muscle Car"; it's a completely stock, unrestored 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Super Sport two door hardtop with black paint and a black factory interior. It features the ultra-desirable 454 CI LS6 V-8 engine under the hood with its factory matching M22 four-speed transmission and this vehicle is in pristine condition. In fact, it may be one of the nicest true survivors we've seen this year and it just so happens to be one of the rarest collectible classics on today's market.

Most Powerful Muscle Car of 1970

This 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS is a two owner vehicle that has been with the current owner for the past 43 years. This vehicle is in 100% stock, unrestored factory condition except for the following-

  • The factory radio failed in 1979 and it was replaced with a Chevy "new/old stock" radio from Chevy in 1980.

Additionally, this particular SS is very desirable because the Chevelle was only produced for one year with the LS6 454 engine and the M22 4-speed transmission. A total of 4,475 of these powertrain combinations were available in North America and it is unknown what percentage of those were Chevelle coupes. Most importantly the car comes with it's original build sheet proving this is a real high optioned Chevelle LS6.

In terms of actual condition, this 1970 Chevy Chevelle SS is by far the nicest we've ever seen; restored or otherwise. The paint, the body, the interior and the engine compartment are all virtually flawless with no real signs of wear anywhere. The current owner has informed us that this model has been garaged since 1971 and driven only enough to keep the engine fresh"which amounts to about 473 total miles per year. It is simply an incredible example and we have the original build sheet to certify the above claims as well.
