1969 Volvo 1800 S 2 Door Sport Coupe

Painted a metallic deep jewel green over a tan leather interior this 1969 Volvo 1800S is a unique car not often seen on the roads today. Powered by a 2.0L inline four cylinder engine with dual carburetors and a four speed manual transmission the 1800 was Volvo's attempt at a newly styled sports car that began in 1961. Purchased by the current owner in 2001 the Volvo underwent restoration shortly after, which included a rebuilt engine, new upholstery , and full mechanical overhaul. The engine was rebuilt in November of 2002 by Verkstad Motors in Redwood City, CA and has seen only about 7,000 miles since. We have been provided receipts for all the mechanical work performed on the car with the last invoice dated September of 2009. The current owner has spent nearly $20,000 restoring this Volvo, but has simply not had time to enjoy the car. This Volvo model became very famous as a result of its role in the TV series "The Saint" in which the hero Simon Templar (Roger Moore) drove the car.
