1968 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia 2 Door Coupe

Its not very often that you come across a super-clean, adult-owned, 2-owner Karmann Ghia! According to the owner, the 29,000 miles on the odometer are original miles.He was told this when he purchased the car from the daughter of the original owner.

Also surprising is that the windshield and the engine are the only things on this car that are not original.In fact the original, matching number motor is included in the sale along with paperwork from VW stating that as fact.

The current motor in the car was rebuilt appx 500 miles ago using parts from 68, 69, 70 and 71 VW engines to give you a durable and efficient motor that will give you years of trouble-free enjoyment.It has recently been completely gone through and many things were serviced.Valve adjustment, carb adjustment, hydro boot, just to name a few!

The Volkswagen Karmann Ghia is a 2+2 coupe and convertible marketed from 1955 to 1974 by Volkswagen combining the chassis and mechanicals of the Type 1 (Beetle), styling by Luigi Segre of the Italian carrozzeria Ghia, and hand-built bodywork by German coach-builder Karmann.

In the early 1950s, Volkswagen was producing its economy car, the Type 1 (Beetle). With an increase in post-war standards of living, executives at Volkswagen proposed adding a halo car to its model range, contracting with German coachbuilder Karmann for its manufacture. Karmann in turn contracted the Italian firm Ghia.
