Truly Incredible 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible

The next amazing classic up for grabs in our Fairfield showroom is this gorgeous 1967 Pontiac GTO 2 Door Convertible with Tyrol Blue exterior paint, a white convertible top and a blue vinyl interior.  This incredibly significant example features a factory-correct 400 cubic inch V-8 engine with a 4-barrel carburetor and an automatic transmission with a Hurst "his-n- her" shifter, plus tilt steering column, a factory AM/FM radio, power steering and a power top.

With fantastic documentation and one of the most exciting histories you’ll read about this month, this ‘67 GTO Convertible is literally every Pontiac lover’s dream collectible.

Originally Owned by Tin Indian Drag Race Team

The 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible before you today originally delivered to Knafel Pontiac and was used by the “Tin Indian” drag race team owned by Pontiac Dealer W.J. Knafel . It was used in various promotional events ranging from around the "Tin Indian" parade queens to driving dignitaries and drivers around the Daytona 500 track in pre-race ceremonies.  In fact, we have extensive documentation on file to this classic’s prestigious history such as the original owner’s manual,  protection plan, top operation manual, the protect-o-plate and various “World Champion GTO” badges and documentation for the Tin Indian Club, which won 27 championships in a single season.

While this 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible has been freshly polished and ceramic coated, we believe it to be in unrestored, factory condition both inside and out.  It still wears various Tin Indian and Pontiac Oakland Club decals from the late 1960’s and early 1970’s, making it a truly one-of-a-kind classic with an unrivaled history.  It has to be seen in person to truly appreciate due to the incredible levels of care it has received over the past 5 decades.  Most collectors would not opt to restore this beautiful classic due to its historical significance as a repainted genuine survivor.

Extensive Ties to GTO Racing & the Daytona 500

Overall, this 1967 Pontiac GTO Convertible is one of the most incredible examples to ever enter our showroom and it’s provenance simply sets it apart from any other example on the open market.  We believe that the current asking price is highly conservative for such a rare, tremendous example and it presents an excellent investment opportunity.  For more information about this vehicle, visit our Fairfield, California showroom, give us a call at 707-419-8200, or email us at Sales@SpecialtySales.com.  Be sure to mention Stock # F13504 as well.
