New to our Pleasanton showroom is this highly impressive 1966 Ford Mustang GT 2 Door 2 Plus 2 Fastback with Candy Apple red exterior paint, and black pony vinyl interior. This true “K-code” example features a 289 cid V-8 engine under the hood with a factory 9 inch rear end, Rally Pack gauges, GT fog lights and a 4-speed manual transmission, along with upgraded frame bracing from the factory and brand new tires.  This sensational, highly desirable fastback is in premium condition as well and it’s ready to be enjoyed as a driver right away!

 Rebuilt 289 V-8 Motor in True “K-Code” Fastback

The current owner of this 1966 Ford Mustang GT Fastback has enjoyed it since 2010 and he informs us that the VIN decodes to a true K-Code example in Candy Apple Red with a 289 V-8 and a 4-speed manual transmission.  He has enjoyed it over the past decade primarily as a weekend driver and he informs us that this example is still highly original throughout as well.  He does not believe the 289 V-8 motor is original, although the rest of the major mechanicals seem to be correct to this vehicle.

Additionally, this 1966 Ford Mustang GT 2 Plus 2 Fastback shows nicely in person with typical levels of wear for a driver-level muscle car.  The exterior paint has several minor scratches/blemishes to discover but the body is straight and shows well in person, with average chrome and trim.  The interior and engine bay are both at a higher level with a super clean stock appearance.  And this classic really performs well on the open road with nice acceleration, handling and stopping power- it’s rare to see an example of this caliber below the $30k mark since it’s been really well cared for.
