Immaculate 1963 Volkswagen Double Cab Transporter

Up for sale today is a very desirable 1963 Volkswagen Transporter Double Cab three door pickup with exceptional Tangelo Pearland Pearl Crme paint. This iconic pickup has a freshly installed 1835cc engine under the hood with a 4 speed manual transmission and it's been nicely modified with 40mm Dellorto carburetors, a Sidewinder exhaust, a Billet alternator and so much more. Completely Restored in January of 2009

Mechanically, this 1963 Volkswagen Transporter Double Cab pickup runs like a dream. The freshly installed 1835cc engine produces ample power for almost any task- from simple cruising along the CA coastline or hauling products for a business. The air vents leading into the engine compartment were changed to increase airflow as well so this beauty runs cool and steady, with pretty good gas mileage for a larger vehicle.

Both the body and the frame are original to this vehicle and it's been reworked back to pristine factory standards. The rear fenders are slightly flared to allow wider tires; Kumho 150-50-15 front and 215-65-15 rear tires are complemented by gorgeous Enki flower wheels. There is also a brand new roof rack with a 60's Craig surfboard to complete the look.

Increasingly Rare & Sought After

The current owner of this 1963 Volkswagen Transporter Double Cab pickup had it completely restored in Jan. 2009 because he's always loved this particular model. Shortly thereafter, it took first place at the San Francisco Custom Rod & Motorcycle show in 2009 and dozens of other awards since then. Even though this model was available worldwide back in the 60's, very few seemed to survive in the US and they are exceedingly hard to come by. We feel confident in saying that this is easily the finest example on today's market"possibly worldwide.
