Rare & Highly Desirable 1940 LaSalle 50 Series 4 Door Sedan

New to our Benicia showroom is this outstanding 1940 LaSalle 50 Series 4 Door Sedan with grey exterior paint and a gray cloth interior. You’ll find a 130 horsepower, 322 cid V-8 engine under the hood with a 3-speed manual transmission, and this gorgeous show-stopper is nicely equipped with the original working radio and vacuum actuated antenna, vacuum windshield wipers, factory heat and more!  This breathtaking classic has been driven approximately 5,000 miles since its Concours-level restoration and it is in phenomenal, breathtaking condition throughout.  In its final years, the LaSalle once again became more Cadillac-like in its appearance and details.

Underwent a Compete Nut & Bolt Restoration in 2012

This 1940 LaSalle 50 Series Sedan originally sold on in California and it’s believed that it has remained on the West Coast the vast majority of its life.  The current owner took possession back in 2002 and enjoyed it for years as a high end driver before completely restoring it from the ground up in 2012.  During that time, the major mechanicals were disassembled before restoring it to the incredible example seen before you today.  While there are a few insignificant blemishes to be found, this is likely one of the premiere examples nationwide due to the outstanding overall quality and originality of this vehicle.

Additionally, this 1940 LaSalle 50 Series Sedan originally designed by the great Harley Earl is highly original throughout and drives like a true investment grade example.  While it certainly won’t win many drag races, this pristine classic cruises at highway speeds with a nice feel on the open road, smooth handling and responsive steering.  It does not need a single thing to be driven and shown right away, and we have ample documentation on file to show decades of proper maintenance and care.
