Nicely Maintained 1968 Ford Mustang Convertible

The next gorgeous muscle car up for grabs in our Fairfield showroom is this 1968 Ford Mustang 2 Door Convertible with blue exterior paint and a matching blue vinyl interior. It features a 289 CI V-8 engine under the hood with an automatic transmission, plus it has an upgraded exhaust and an excellent maintenance history. The interior is also brand new throughout as well and this pretty Pony-car is ready to be enjoyed immediately.

Brand New Interior & Sensational Performance

The current owner of this 1968 Ford Mustang Roadster purchased it back in 1984 and has used it as a daily driver for 30+ years now. He replaced the top in ’85 and added a new short block engine in 1986, followed by completely rebuilding the transmission in 1991 (new shift kit, o rings, seals, gaskets, etc.). Since that time, this beautiful sports car has only been driven approximately 15,000 miles; which puts 15k on the transmission and 43k on the motor. Additionally, he has also replaced the lower control arms, strut rod bushings, idler arm stabilizer links, the fuel pump, alternator, starter, transmission switch, the exhaust and the heater core since then as well. With new brakes and a fresh tune up, this one is in fantastic mechanical shape.

In terms of cosmetic condition, this 1968 Ford Mustang Convertible really looks sharp with its brand new interior. It was professionally repainted in 2000 and that is starting to show some signs of wear, as is the convertible top. It is well above the typical driver grade throughout though and it requires very little to be ready to show on the main stage. For now though, it is an exceptional driver that delivers great acceleration, smooth handling and a sweet authentic sound (both from the new exhaust and the new stereo system).
