Very Rare, Eye Catching 1967 Volvo 123GT Coupe

New to our Fairfield showroom is this very rare and appealing 1967 Volvo 123GT 2 Door Coupe with green exterior paint and a tan vinyl interior.  It features a 1.8L four cylinder engine under the hood with a four speed manual transmission, and this impressive classic is equipped with front disc brakes, a special suspension, a period correct radio, factory reclining bucket seats and more.  This desirable classic is in very nice original shape as well and it is ready for the next owner to enjoy right away.

Updated to a Modern Volvo P1800 Engine & Transmission

This 1967 Volvo 123GT Coupe was originally manufactured in Belgium or Sweden as a street ready rally car with countless performance, handling and weight curbing upgrades throughout.  It is believed that approximately 1,500 total examples were produced in the 1967 and 1968 model years and due to their racing heritage, very few are believed to have survived…with even fewer making their way to the United States.  On average, less than three examples surface annually on the open market and few rival the overall quality of the example before you today.

In terms of condition, this 1967 Volvo 123GT Coupe is super clean with the factory seating, consoles and steering wheel still in place.  The interior does show minimal signs of wear for what most would consider a high end driver and it would not take serious refreshing to have it back to show quality.  The exterior is also impressive with only minor imperfections and a newer coat of factory-correct color paint.  The chrome bumpers and trim work have minimal pitting issues and can certainly be restored.

Under the hood, this 1967 Volvo 123GT received an engine upgrade from an early 70’s Volvo P1800 which has slightly more horsepower thanks to the dual carbs.  The engine compartment is in need of minor refreshing but this classic sports car is a true pleasure to drive, with very nice handling and everything this particular model is noted for.  It can be enjoyed immediately as a nice weekend driver without changing a thing.
