Here we have a very rare and ultra low mileage 1968 AMC AMX-390 that is believed to be one of less than 3,000 ever produced. Repainted the original Scarab Gold during a full restoration back in 1980, this AMX was elegantly displayed from 1980 to 1992 at a classic car dealership in Monterey, California. Never offered for sale until now the AMX has been featured in a number of magazine publications and has won countless awards over the past 30 years. Complete with full documentation and photo-booklet this original, number's matching AMX is a one of a kind car!
Originally sold in San Jose, California this AMX still features the original engine and drive train, although the engine was just rebuilt 100 miles ago; yes that is correct 100 miles ago. The Interior is in great conditional and the body panels are perfectly straight and smooth, having never been wrecked or damaged. This AMX also features a full stainless steel exhaust system and the owner will even throw in an extra set of Redline tires with the purchase of the car. A great investment and unique car, this AMC AMX-390 is a great buy for any collector.

The “Go Package” The most popular package was the “Go Package”, and could only be installed on the 343 or 390 engines. This package included power front disc brakes, E70x14 redline tires, Twin Grip rear axle in specific ratios, and Twin racing stripes that went over the hood, roof, and trunk in white or black. The Airless Spare was included – a spare tire that took up minimal space, and inflated when you needed it. The AMX “Go Package” vehicles are the most sought after collectibles.
